BUTTERMILK BROWNIES 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 sticks shortening (1 butter & 1 butter)
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and sugar together. Boil together butter, butter, water, and cocoa. Pour over flour and sugar and beat 2 minutes. Add rest of ingredients and beat 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 10 x 17 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

FROSTING:

6 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. milk
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Boil first 3 ingredients for 1 1/2 minutes and add chocolate chips and beat.
