FUDGY OATMEAL BARS 
2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. reg. oatmeal
2 tbsp. butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix brown sugar, 1 cup butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla and the eggs. Stir in flour, baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt; stir in oats. Reserve 1/3 of this oat mixture. Press remaining oat mixture in greased jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch.

Heat 2 tablespoons butter, the milk and chocolate chips over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted; remove from heat. Stir in nuts, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Spread over oat mixture in pan. Drop reserved oat mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls onto chocolate mixture. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into bars (about 2 x 1 inch) while warm.
