BAKED ZITI | |
2 lbs. ground beef 2 (48 oz.) jars spaghetti sauce 24 oz. (1 1/2 boxes) ziti noodles 15 oz. ricotta cheese 1 (16 oz.) pkg. shredded Mozzarella cheese 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese Brown ground beef. Drain off fat and add to sauce. Cook noodles according to package directions. Use 2 (13"x9") pans. Spread thin layer of sauce in each pan. Top with some scattered ziti. Spread with another thin layer of sauce. Using a teaspoon, top with dollops of ricotta cheese and spread out slightly with the back of spoon. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers ending with cheeses. (Usually can only fit 2 layers.) Bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes or until sauce bubbles, cheese melts and top is lightly browned. NOTE: This can be frozen before baking. Allow all day to thaw, and it may take a little longer to bake. |
