CHERRY COCONUT SQUARES 
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. soft butter
3 tbsp. powdered sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. finely chopped nuts
1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. maraschino cherries, chopped and well drained

With hands, mix 1 cup flour, butter, and powdered sugar until well blended. Spread and gently pat in bottom of 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes, until lightly browned. Mix 1/4 cup flour and remaining ingredients. Spread carefully over baked mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into 16 squares.
