CARAMEL JUMBLES 
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. undiluted Carnation milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. cut up walnuts

Mix thoroughly the shortening, brown sugar, granulated sugar and eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Mix. Blend in walnuts.

Chill for 1 hour then drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Bake 350 degrees about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Frost with Burnt Butter Glaze. Top each cookie with walnut half.

BURNT BUTTER GLAZE:

Heat 2 tablespoons butter in saucepan until golden brown. Stir in 2 cups confectioners' sugar and 1 cup Carnation milk. Beat until smooth.
