HAMBURGER STROGANOFF 
1 to 1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
2-3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
6 to 8 oz. noodles
6 scallions or 1/2 onion
3 oz. cream cheese
1 to 2 c. sour cream
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. butter
1 sm. minced garlic clove (optional)
1 1/4 tsp. salt
Black pepper to taste
1 tsp. sugar

Cook hamburger in skillet with fat, breaking into small pieces until brown. Add seasonings and tomato sauce, cover and simmer 10-15 minutes, stirring once or twice. Cook noodles and drain. Chop scallions and keep the green if tender and small, mix them with the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Grease a baking dish and layer the bottom with some noodles, then add layer of the cheese-scallion, then meat sauce. Repeat 3 times and sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Bake 1/2 hour at 350 degrees.
