SAUSAGE CASSEROLE 
1 lb. hot sausage
1/2 lb. mild sausage

Crumble sausage into skillet, add one chopped onion and cook together. Drain.

1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 c. raw rice
2 cans chicken gumbo soup
1/2 lb. grated sharp cheese
1 can of water chestnuts
1 pkg. slivered almonds (optional)
2 cans water

Cover tightly and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Uncover and continue cooking for 20 minutes. (Can be frozen. When reheating, add additional water). Serves 16.
