FUDGE TOFFEE COOKIES 
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. beaten egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. walnuts, finely chopped

Sift together flour, soda, cocoa, and salt. Cream butter and sugars. Blend beaten egg and vanilla. Beat well. Reserve the remaining egg. Add walnuts and the dry ingredients. Mix well. Spread on greased 10x14 inch baking sheet.

Brush with remaining egg. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle 8 oz. chocolate chips over hot cookies. When chocolate has softened, spread to frost. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Cut into diagonals.
