EASY YEAST ROLLS 
2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup warm milk
1 egg
1 pkg. dry yeast (or equivalent)
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 cup warm water
2 tbsp. shortening

Mix together the egg, milk, water, sugar and yeast. Mix together the flour and shortening so that it looks the size of peas. Stir in the liquid mixture to form a soft ball. Turn out onto floured board. Knead gently. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter. Butter both sides and place in pan. Let rise until double (about 3 hours).

Bake at 400°F for 10 to 15 minutes.
