DATE BON BONS 
1 c. butter
2 c. finely chopped dates (1 lb.)
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. salt
4 c. Rice Krispies
1 tsp. vanilla
Flaked coconut

Melt butter in large pan on medium heat, add sugar and stir until melted. Add dates and continue to cook, stirring constantly until mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Stir in milk, salt and eggs and cook for 2 more minutes. Add cereal, nuts and vanilla and blend well. Cool mixture slightly. Rinse hands in cold water and form into small balls. Roll into coconut and refrigerate to set, store in cool place. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
