TOFFEE SQUARES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla
2 "scant" c. flour
6 milk chocolate bars (1.65 oz. ea.)
1 c. chopped pecans or almonds

Cream butter & sugar. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour. Spread on ungreased 16x14x1 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown and puffy. Arrange chocolate bars over hot crust. Wait 5 minutes the spread evenly. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cool.
