CRACK COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1/4 c. white sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. flour
Vanilla and salt
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda

Roll in ball size of hazelnuts and dip top in sugar. Bake 350 degrees 8 to 10 minutes.
