CREAM CANDY 
3 c. sugar
1 c. heavy cream (whipping)
1 c. dark Karo syrup

Cook to soft ball. Remove from heat and add quick, about 1/8 teaspoon baking soda. Stir while it foams up and add 1/2 sticks butter. Beat until butter is melted. Then cool for 15 minutes. Beat until it becomes heavy. Add 1 to 2 cups nuts. Pour (it does not pour easy) into buttered dish and let cool; cut.
