1 lb. white sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar
5 to 10 drops strawberry flavoring
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Add a little water to moisten the sugar. Boil until brittle. Add flavoring and turn quickly out on butter plates. When cool, pull until white. Cut into squares.
