SPAGHETTI PIE | |
CRUST: 8 oz. spaghetti 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese 2 well-beaten eggs FILLING: 1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped onions 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes 6 oz. can tomato paste 1 1/2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1 carton cottage cheese (optional) 1 pkg. sliced Mozzarella cheese CRUST: cook spaghetti; drain, stir in butter in hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and beaten eggs. Press mixture into a "crust" in a buttered 7x11 inch dish. FILLING: In skillet, cook ground beef and onions until beef is brown. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes (crush them first), tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Heat thoroughly. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti crust. Fill pie with meat and tomato mixture. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cover top with Mozzarella slices. Bake 5 minutes more. |
