APPLE DROP COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. apple juice or milk
1 c. apples, finely chopped
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts, chopped

GLAZE:

1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 tbsp. butter, melted
2 tbsp. cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg. Beat well. Sift together dry ingredients. Add half to creamed mixture. Blend in juice or milk. Add remaining flour mixture. Beat in apples, raisins and nuts. Drop by spoonsful on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 to 14 minutes. Combine and mix well glaze ingredients. Glaze cookies while warm. Makes 48 cookies.
