GREEN HILLS BRISKET | |
1 (4-5 lb.) flat beef brisket Salt and pepper 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. vinegar 1/4 c. catsup 4 dashed Worcestershire sauce 6 dashed soy sauce Line broiler pan or flat pan with foil; place beef in pan. Salt and pepper well; wrap in foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Reduce heat to 300 degree; bake 2 hours. Combine remaining ingredients. Drain grease from brisket. Add 3/4 of the sauce. Wrap foil loosely around meat; cook 1 hour. About 20-30 minutes before serving, add remaining sauce. Vary cooking time according to size of brisket. Yields 10 servings. NOTE: This recipe won first prize at the Mo. Farm Journal convention for tasty meat dishes. |
