“PEPITO SPICY MEAT SANDWICH” IS IN:

PEPITO SPICY MEAT SANDWICH 
The PEPITO sandwich is quite popular in Venezuela and it can be made in many ways, mostly with grilled meat cubes and any kind of sauces such as ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. This version is more spicy but still very quick to prepare.

1 lb. tenderloin or sirloin steaks, cubed
2 tbsp. cornstarch or flour
4-6 tbsp. olive or vegetable oil
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. smoked hot sauce (optional but recommended)
3 tbsp. barbecue sauce
4 small tomatoes, sliced
8 lettuce leafs
1 small onion, finely sliced (optional)
2 French style baguettes bread (or any suitable bread)
salt, to taste

Mix the meat and cornstarch. Heat oil (olive is preferred) and fry the meat and when changes to brown, add the sauces and continue cooking until meat is done. Check the salt and add if necessary.

Cut the bread baguettes in half and open them, fill each half with the meat and its sauce, the tomatoes, lettuce and onion.
