SPAGHETTI WITH MEATBALLS | |
MEATBALLS: 3/4 lb. ground beef 1/4 lb. ground pork 1 c. fine bread crumbs 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1 tbsp. minced parsley 1 clove garlic, cut fine 1/2 c. milk 2 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper Mix, shape into meatballs and brown. TOMATO SAUCE: 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 3 tbsp. olive oil 2 (1 lb. 4 oz.) cans tomatoes, rubbed through sieve 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 c. water 1 tsp. basil 2 tbsp. minced parsley 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper I put in blender. Saute onion and garlic in oil. Add rest of ingredients. Simmer over low heat 1 hour. |
