FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1 can (1 lb. 14 oz.) fruit cocktail with juice
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 1/2 c. raisins
2 tbsp. cognac or rum
Chopped candied cherries "optional"

In large bowl put all ingredients and stir until well blended, pour into a tube pan, bake in slow oven 325 degrees for 2 hours or until toothpick comes out clean.
