TURTLE CAKE 
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter
1 (18.5 oz.) pkg. German chocolate flavor cake mix
2 c. milk chocolate chips
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small saucepan, combine caramels, evaporated milk, and butter. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until caramels are melted.

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spoon half of the batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes. Pour melted caramel mixture on top of cake. Sprinkle with chips and walnuts. Spoon remaining batter over all. Bake cake 30 minutes longer. Let cool completely in pan. Cut into bars in pan. NOTE: Tastes great topping with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
