DUTCH ALMOND COOKIES 
2 sticks butter
1 egg, separated
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. or more cinnamon
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. or more slivered almonds

Beat egg whites. Set aside in small bowl. Cream butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Add flour. Spread into 10x15 inch pan. Spread egg white on top. Sprinkle with mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle almonds on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cut into diamonds or squares.
