SPAGHETTI PIE 
1 lb. ground beef or Italian sausage or both
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped slightly, undrained
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
2 tbsp. butter
6 oz. spaghetti
1 c. Parmesan cheese
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. cream-style cottage cheese
1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Saute beef, onion, and pepper until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain off fat Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, and garlic salt. Simmer 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook spaghetti; drain and toss with butter until melted. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Pat into bottom and sides of well-buttered 10- inch pie plate, forming a crust. Spread half Mozzarella over bottom of spaghetti crust. Top with tomato and meat mixture. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle other half of Mozzarella cheese on top and bake 5 minutes more.
