CHILI 
1 lb. ground beef or 1 lb. ground turkey
1 med. or lg. onion, thinly sliced
2 cans kidney beans
2-3 (14 oz.) cans stewed whole tomatoes
8 oz. can tomato sauce
3-4 tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tbsp. black pepper
1 tsp. salt
For Texas hot chili add 1/4 c. diced jalapeno peppers

Brown beef and onions in large pot. Pour off grease. Add spices. Add remaining ingredients cook over medium low heat for at least 45 minutes. The longer chili simmers, the better it tastes. If cooking for long periods of time keep the lid on and let some steam escape - water may have to be added periodically. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking.

Serving suggestion: Serve over cooked macaroni and add grated cheese, onion, and sour cream.
