RHUBARB BARS | |
1 c. shortening (part butter) 1 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 2 c. flour 1 1/2 c. oatmeal 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sugar 4 c. rhubarb 2 tbsp. cornstarch Mix together shortening, brown sugar, vanilla and egg. Add flour, oatmeal and baking soda. Mix well and pat 1/2 mixture in greased jelly roll pan. Cook together sugar, rhubarb and cornstarch until thick. Pour over crumbs and cover with rest of crumb mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. |
