GERMAN FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (#303) can fruit cocktail, juice and all

Mix dry ingredients and add fruit and eggs. Mix well. Pour in greased pan and put 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped nuts on top. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
3/4 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. coconut

Boil for 2 minutes before adding coconut. Then pour over hot cake.
