CRANBERRY ORANGE NUT BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. fresh cranberries (chop)
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice
1 tbsp. grated rind
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening to resemble meal. Combine orange juice and rind with well-beaten egg. Pour in all dry ingredients; just mix until damp. Do not beat. Fold in nuts and chopped cranberries. Bake 1 hour in 9x5 loaf pan at 350 degrees. Test with toothpick before removing from oven.
