FRIED PIE CRUST 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. milk
Deep, hot shortening

Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Cut in the shortening, add milk and mix well. Put small ball of dough on floured board, roll out very thin and cut with plastic lid. Dip finger in water and moisten outer edges of circle. Put in cooked, cooled filling on one half of crust. Fold over and crimp edges with fork. Prick finished pies in 3 or 4 places. Fry in hot fat until brown. Put a thin glaze on one side of pie.
