APPLE CRISP 
2 very lg. cooking apples (cored and sliced)
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. maple syrup
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. light brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Toss apples with lemon juice in a small bowl. Arrange apples in overlapping circles in a buttered 9 inch plate. Drizzle maple syrup over apples. In a bowl combine flour, salt and brown sugar. Cut in butter - texture should resemble large crumbs. Scatter mixture over apples. Bake for 30 minutes or until top is crisp. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
