AUSTRALIAN OAT CAKES 
3 c. flour
3 c. oats
1 1/2 c. lard
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. water

Work all ingredients together with fingers until dough can be rolled. Roll out on floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into squares or diamonds and bake on cookie sheets at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Cool on racks. Store in airtight tin.
