ORANGE KISS ME CAKE | |
2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 lg. orange 1 c. raisins 1 c. milk TOPPING: 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. walnuts Sift together flour, soda and salt. Cream shortening and sugar. Blend in eggs, one at a time. Add ground orange pulp and raisins. (Reserve juice of orange for topping.) Add milk and dry ingredients alternately to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Blend thoroughly after each addition. (With electric mixer, use low speed.) Pour into well-greased and lightly-floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Drip orange juice (about 1/3 cup) over warm cake. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and nut topping. Decorate with orange slices. |
