VANILLA CREAM PIE FILLING 
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. flour

Mix the above in saucepan. Gradually add 3 cups milk. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until it boils. Remove from heat, add some of the hot mixture to 3 well beaten egg yolks, then add to the rest of custard in saucepan. Boil 1 minute longer, flavor with 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 tablespoon butter. Serve with meringue made of the whites or with whipped cream. Put in 9" baked pie shell.

You can add several bananas (sliced) to the above for banana cream pie.
