MOTHER'S CARROT PUDDING & SAUCE 
1 c. grated apples
1 c. grated carrots
1 c. grated potatoes
1 c. bread crumbs
2 c. suet or 1 c. suet & 3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. currants
Some dates
1 egg
3/4 c. nuts
3/4 c. combined red & green cherries
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda (dissolved in fruit juice)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of cloves
1/2 lb. mixed peel

Mix together and steam 4 hours.

PUDDING SAUCE:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. butter
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vinegar
1 sm. tsp. nutmeg
1 sm. tsp. salt
