INDIAN PUDDING 
1 qt. milk
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. stone-ground cornmeal (use only stone-ground)
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. each nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon
1 beaten egg

Scald the milk. Mix the water, molasses and cornmeal. Blend this mixture into milk and boil. Remove from the fire and add butter, sugar, salt, and the other seasonings. Cool (it does not have to be cold, only cooler) and add egg. Bake one hour at 325 degrees in casserole or baking dish.
