CHEDDAR APPLE BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 (20 oz.) can apple pie filling
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg. Beat in apple pie filling. Sift the flour, salt, soda and baking powder together and add to creamed mixture. Add the cheese and walnuts. Pour into well greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

Makes 16-20 servings.
