GINGERSNAPS | |
2 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 3 tsp. baking powder 3/4 c. soft shortening 1 c. sugar 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/4 c. light molasses Sift flour, salt, spices and baking powder. Cream shortening until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar. Blend in egg and molasses. Add flour mixture. Shape dough into small balls, roll in sugar and put on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand 1-2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. 4 dozen. |
