IMPERIAL POUND CAKE 
1 lb. Imperial butter
1 lb. Confectioners' sugar
3 c. cake flour
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla or other flavoring (you may use 2 tbsp. of grated orange peel)

In a large bowl, soften butter then cream with powdered sugar. Add eggs, two at a time, alternately with flour. Add flavoring and stir well. Pour batter in well greased and floured tube cake pan and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees (in some ovens baking time may be a little longer).

This recipe has been used over a period of years and has proved to be very satisfactory. It is quick and easy to make and makes a large, moist cake.
