1 frying chicken, cut up
1 env. dry onion soup mix
3/4 c. uncooked rice
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 soup can water
1 sm. can mushrooms, drained
1/2 tsp. salt & pepper (opt)

Season chicken and brown lightly. Mix remaining ingredients together and place in casserole, 13"x9". Arrange chicken on top. Cover with foil and bake 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake 20 minutes longer. Serves 4 to 6.
