LOLLIPOP COOKIES 
1 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. water
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
Wooden skewers or popsicle sticks (opt.)
Frosting
Jelly beans & licorice

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In a large mixing bowl cream brown sugar and shortening. Add egg, vanilla and water; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture. Beat until smooth. Stir in oatmeal, lightly flour hands and shape dough into 24 balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with bottom of a glass dipped in flour. Insert skewer or stick in each if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove and let cool. Decorate. Yield: 24 (3") cookies.
