HOT MULLED CIDER 
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 qts. apple cider
1 tsp. whole allspice
1 tsp. whole cloves
3 inches stick cinnamon
Dash nutmeg

Combine first 3 ingredients. Tie spices in a small piece of cheesecloth. Add to cider. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Remove spices. Serve hot with orange-slice floaters, cinnamon-stick stirrers. Serves 10.
