DATE-NUT PUDDING 
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 egg
1 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. dates
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix all above ingredients well and let stand. In a casserole dish put 3 cups boiling water and 1 cup brown sugar and stir well until sugar is well dissolved. Drop by tablespoon the date mixture on top of the water mixture. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve warm or chilled with Cool Whip.
