PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. raw peanuts
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Karo syrup (white)
5 strips paraffin
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix first five ingredients together in a four-quart saucepan. Cook on medium heat until peanuts begin to pop and syrup turns brown. Set pot off heat and add soda. Stir down, then pour on greased cookie sheet. Let cool. Break in pieces. Makes about two quarts.
