BUTTERMILK APPLE PIE 
1 egg
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. sugar
Enough apples to fill pie shell
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk

1 unbaked pie shell

Beat egg lightly; add sugar, buttermilk, flour, salt, and vanilla; mix well. Toss apples into mixture; mix and pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 375 degrees or until apples are tender. Sprinkle on Topping (recipe below).

TOPPING FOR BUTTERMILK APPLE PIE:

1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter

Sprinkle all over top of pie. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake 15 minutes more.
