PEAR OR APPLE CRUMB PIE 
4 or 5 pears or apples
1/2 stick butter
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Fill deep casserole with layers of pears which have been peeled, cored and sliced. Sprinkle each layer with sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Dot with butter.

TOPPING:

1 c. flour
1 stick butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans

With fork, mix together the flour, brown sugar and butter. Add pecans. Cover pears with topping. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees or 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
