MY MOTHER'S MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
3-4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
Salt

Cream shortening, sugar, molasses and eggs. Add buttermilk. Mix with flour rest of ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Let stand 1 hour in refrigerator. Roll thin and cut in any shape. Bake in a quick oven (about 400 degrees) until done.
