BROWNIE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 sticks butter
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. sour milk (add 1 tsp. vinegar to fresh milk)
1 egg

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare cookie sheet with shortening and flour. Sift together flour, sugar, and soda. In saucepan, melt butter, water, and cocoa. Mix together the above plus sour milk and egg. Bake 15 minutes at 375 degrees.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 lb. box powdered sugar

Start about 5 minutes before cake is done. In saucepan, melt butter, cocoa, and milk. Add powdered sugar. Mix until smooth, pour over cake as soon as it comes out of oven.
