APPLE STRUDEL | |
1 1/2 lbs. apples, peeled, cored & sliced 1/2 c. golden raisins 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Pinch of nutmeg WRAPPER: 3 sheets phyllo dough 4 tsp. unsalted butter, melted 2 tsp. powdered sugar Mix all filling ingredients together. Bake in a pan in a 350 degree oven until apples are tender, about 15 minutes. Cool. Lay a sheet of phyllo dough on a piece of parchment or waxed paper. Brush with butter. Lay a second sheet of dough on top and brush with butter. Repeat process using remaining sheet of dough. Place filling along one end and roll dough halfway up around apples. Fold edges in and continue rolling to form a cylinder. Don't roll dough too tightly or it will split. Place rolled dough on a tray, seam side down and brush with butter. Bake in 400 degree oven until browned and hot, about 20 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar. Serve with Raspberry Sauce. 10 servings. |
