ANGEL FLAKE BISCUITS | |
5 c. flour 3 tbsp. sugar 3 tbsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. shortening 2 pkgs. yeast 3 c. buttermilk Sift dry ingredients together, except for yeast. Add 1 cup shortening, mix well. Dissolve yeast in 3 tablespoons warm water. Add buttermilk and yeast to flour mixture. Mix and let rest a few minutes. Roll and cut biscuits. Place on cookie sheet and freeze. When frozen, take them from cookie sheet and store them in plastic bag. Remove as many as needed and bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Keeps well. |
