OLD FASHION SPINACH SALAD | |
1/2 lb. bacon 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. vinegar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. coarse black pepper 1 tsp. tarragon 1/4 c. brandy Saute bacon until crisp, remove bacon and crumble. To the bacon grease add next 5 ingredients and bring to a boil. Add brandy and flame. Steep for 20 minutes. In a large salad bowl combine bacon, fresh spinach, sliced radishes, red onion rings, sliced celery and sliced hard boiled egg. Top with hot dressing and toss. Serve immediately. |
