FRUITCAKE COOKIES 
1 1/2 lbs. dates
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
2 c. chopped pecans
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 sticks butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs

Chop up fruit, add nuts and dredge in 1/2 cup of the flour. Combine flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Cream butter, sugar and beaten eggs, add to flour mixture. Stir in fruit mixture with hands. Mold into 3 or 4 rolls. Roll in waxed paper and refrigerate for a few days. Slice and bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes.
